With our extra time in Chibuto, we have been able to visit a new village every week doing visits and outreaches. Its been so exciting watching God open doors and seeing people’s lives changed. So far, thankfully the villages are not too far from the base in Chibuto and most of it was on a tar road.
In one village, we were greeted with open arms and big toothless grins from the older women.
The Nhampfungwene Village was hard going in the beginning but once the music started people came. On the second night a local witch-doctor received Christ into her heart along with a bunch of others. On the Sunday she came to church (which was its first Sunday as it was newly planted due to the outreach) to testify that God had healed her back pain and that God is real and then she brought all her “stuff” she used and explained how and why she used the items and then asked if we could burn it….God is awesome!!
The second village Nhalukwane was a little longer away, so we all stayed for the exteneded weekend. The drive was nice and smooth through the farmland. It was great to see some greenery and fat cows. Due to the outreach being so well received we hired a house for the new church plant. During the day the world racers team ministered to those that came and at night the house turned into a motel for the team. The outreach was held in the local field about 2 mintues walk from the house. Again we all had the privilege to witness many to the Lord and healings came as well.
Coco-missava is about a 15minute drive from the base. The first night the area assigned for outreach was full, every one stood still and listening intently throughout the programme, and it brought tears to our eyes when every single person raised their hands to receive Jesus into hearts.
Chokwe is an hour drive away on a very bumpy road, but with a gorgeous view of green farmland. We set-up in the local soccer field and it was packed. Again everyone listening intently, but they love to dance and praise Jesus’ name. There was a huge dust cloud rising as we danced and sang praising God and thanking him for all the healings at the end.
Its just so exciting being apart of what God is doing. Seeing lives changed and transformed.
We hold outreaches for three nights in the same village and on the Sunday have a church service….so far every chief has donated land for a church and a person nominated to be pastor. We are working furiously to get the bible school up and running by February next year.
Please keep the bible school in your prayers during this process.
